KIM Item Funding References

Every item archived in openkim.org can be associated with one or more funding references to acknowledge financial support that contributed to the item. This information conforms to the DataCite Metadata Schema and is included in the item's digital object identifier (DOI) record. The funding reference is comprised of the following information:

• Funder Name (required) – funding agency name drawn from the curated Crossref Funder Registry.
• Award Number (optional) – code assigned by the funder to a sponsored award (grant).
• Award Title (optional) – human readable title or name of the award (grant).
• Award URI (optional) – the URI leading to a page provided by the funder for more information about the award (grant).

Funding references can be specified during upload of new content, and added or updated for existing content by the contributor after logging in.
