New Look for OpenKIM.org Website

08-Jan-2019

In response to user feedback, the openkim.org website has been redesigned to simplify common tasks. Users are greeted with a periodic table and three buttons above it.

  • To find an interatomic model (potential), click on the desired element to be taken to a list of interatomic models for that species. The selection can be narrowed to models that support multiple species after clicking.

  • To find test results (properties predicted by interatomic models) for a given species, first click on the "Tests" button above the periodic table, then select the desired element. (An ability to narrow selection for multiple species is coming soon.)

  • To upload content (interatomic model or reference data), click on the "Contribute a Model or Data" button above the periodic table, and follow the step-by-step instructions.

All other actions (such as downloading the KIM API, browsing the KIM repository, and support) are accessible through the drop-down menu at the top of the screen.

We hope you find the new interface helpful. We always welcome comments and suggestions, contact us at support@openkim.org
