For a scientist, the chemical elements are collections of protons, neutrons and electrons that bond with each other. It is easy to forget that these are also materials that resonate with the human experience. The "Element of Surprise" provides a different, humanistic view on the elements. Our intention is to showcase the work of artists who think about or are inspired by the chemical elements.
